well hey everyone, been away for a while, work has stopped in the slipway due to my job, Ive been put on a rotating shift, 12 on 12 off and not much time in between for anything but sleep, but after I get use to the hours I will get back in the yard, and yes Ed I will post pics, well when I have something to post.

I vistited my local Hobby Town USA on Friday, some nice stuff, the 1/35 Vosper MTB 77 was pointed out, looks nice but that will be $159.00 saved towards the Pontos Nimitz set.
I will be displaying some of my Carriers in the store and will rotate them regularly. Langley and Lexington will be in there first.
good to hear from you John. i've been buzy too. a 1/350 Chicago Tall Lady that is half done. just got a 1/350 waterline Okinawa from ISW and a 1/350 Mars is on the way also. Oh Yeah a waterline 1/350 Charles F. Adams from Tony Bunch is also inbound.
They look really Great gtb, who produces the Mars class, i have a 1/700 LPH somewhere. The Charles F Adams looks like another winner from L'arsenal as was the WEM kit before it.
But i must say the Albany and Chicago win it for me, i love those ships, my first ship, HMS Blake was considered ugly along with her sister HMS Tiger, i never saw them as such.
i had a Pit-Road 1/700 LPH years ago and sold it. with so many building the 1/350 Wasp class I wanted something diffrent. a ship i was on during operation Eagle Claw.
I look forward to seeing what will be an interesting and great build, most only associate Nimitz with that Operation, but along with Okinawa was also USS Coral Sea and escorts, no fewer than 9 CGN/CG.
I have been traveling pretty much every week this year and I was finally able to do some work on the 350th SCB-27A Kearsarge I am doing. I have completed the airwing so that is a good start! I have the hull from ISW but it has a bit of a "banana" warp to it length wise and I was not going to screw up this build with all of the money I have poured into it so far. It is pretty noticable with the area under the forward part of the flight deck. So I got the donor Ticonderoga kit out and started over on working the hull to convert it to a SCB-27A hull. I glued styrene to the sides and sanded/puttied them until they were flared into the bow and stern to get the blister to each side. This also requires some work on the port stern sponson to get the deck and side of the sponson to line up without messing up the bulkheads that run the length of the ship. I was also able get the hanger deck bulkheads off of the ISW hull without destroying them so I have a clean start to re-build the hanger now.
The really good news is that I can use the ISW hull to do a SCB-125 ship some day. I am collecting the pieces for that project. Here are some pics:
I still have to do a lot of sanding and putty work to get a smooth, seemless, flare into the hull from the blisters to the bow and stern.
I have made a little progress on Kearsarge. I discovered a need for some sratch building on the hanger superstructure. The kit wants you to use the piece on the bottom but looking at the reference's, that is wrong. The port hanger opening forward was re-worked with the SCB-27A mods. The upper piece is the one I built up.
Can someone please tell me what book is in this photo?

That is second half of a fold out page, page #138, line drawing plan of the USS Kearsarge in July of 1954, in her SCB-27a, from the book - "Essex Class Carriers" by Alan Raven, Warship design series., 1988, Naval Institute Press. Can tell by the pink on the left edge, which is the edge of the color cover picture on the book jacket, the sunset horizon line. I have that book.
