Comparing everybody else' activity with the silence reigning in the house of the Dragon... The CL and the Pennsy were announced what, 10 years ago?
At least it feels that way.

I think since movie of "Forrest Gump" everyone knows the sticker on cars with "Peep happens". I can only argue, but I think something terrible went wrong here about them at Dragon.

But you are right, it is really annoying and there some areas in 1/350 ships where obviously all manufactures make a far detour around not to make them as kit. My hopes raiseed with the USS Arizona in the past, but nothing followed of the other US Dreadnoughts and they are only as expensive Resinkit available. Also, we have since 30 or more years Nelscon class battleship as 1/700 kit from Tamiya, but no one made it until now as 1/350 kit ... but in rediculous way Trumpeter and Academy must make both a Warspite and I guess if one of them announce the Nelson now, the orther one is so smart and announce her too, but not the Rodney.
The advantage of wisdom is that you can play dumb; conversely, it is more difficult.

Anybody noticed the new 1/200 planes in Trumpeter's 2013-2014 catalog? B-25, F4F, SBD and TBD. Very obvious hint on what comes next.

? must say i am very disappointed if the new 1/200 is about to be the USS Hornet (let alone the hull problems if any ).
How about a Hood? or any of the other BB in the line, even a carrier like Enterprise, or Sara , ..

We will see how it sells. Hopefully it will sell good, and there will be more 1/200 kits.
But on the other hand, if it will sell really bad or even just not as expected, it will probably slow down the rate of 1/200 releases.
I was hoping for a new 1/350 Yorktown instead, and again, now it might depend on how well this model sells. I'm not really sure the market is ready for a 1/200 carrier. It will be huge, and hard to place.

Acyually, Hornet is no longer than Bismarck...and ever so slightly narrower. Myself, I think this an amazing choice and will sell like hot cakes.

Imagine the superdetailing possibilities with an opened up Hangar deck!!! Building 16 off B-25's will be a chore though!!

Bismarck might be bigger, but it doesn't make a 1.15m (3'9") carrier that much easier to place. I will never buy the 1/200 Bismarck either.:)

Trumpeter is making 2 USS Indianapolis's in 1/350?

05326 - USS Indianapolis 1945
05327 - USS Indianapolis 1944

http://scalemodels.ru/images/2013/01/13 ... EO_IMG.jpg

If the picture is anything to go by, looks like a December '44 refit, so she still haves 2 catapults, but same front mast.

Thank you Ninja, for posting the two links!

When looking through the complete catalogue, I found four Type 23 frigates in 1/350 (HMS Kent, Montrose, Westminster and Monmouth) - but sadly enough, still none in 1/700...

Kind regards,

oliver.

Edit / Added

Same source shows the Hobby Boss catalogue. LHD USS Wasp class LHD 1-7 are shown, but the DDGs are missing, I think:

In 1/700 there are resin kits of the Type 23 frigates by WEM and MT Miniatures available plus a white metal Skytrex kit.

Just noticed this: http://www.1999.co.jp/eng/10212850

Click on the pic, this would have been a hell of a battleship. Looks like 3.9 inch guns as secondary's.

Interesting - it's not just the 2006 version with a lower hull added. The AA is significantly different.
