Glad your on the mend there Red, just take it one day at a time and you'll get to feeling better. I know I'm one to relate to taking it one day at a time, I have good days and bad days just as you will, but there is light at the end of the tunnel.
just take care buddy.

Still some fine tuning to do but its getting there. Again referancing Ryans 350 build to make this 720 as I beat my head on the bench.,since Ryan raised the bar for cvn 's. Thanks Ryan.

Wow Jim,you are feeling good. All I could do is prime the two hulls. It's the 7th day after my surgery and went on line to see how long to recover. 3-4 weeks I was told at my age 57. I can't wait that long. Take some pain killers and what i can do tomorrow. Again nice work Jim. :thumbs_up_1:

Thanks Red, I'm feeling better, and I hope you are as well, seems you have a long road a head of you as well, remember my friend one day at a time. As far as my healing its a long process and somewhat painful, but one day at a time. The C-n-C has granted me liberty again tomarrow and I hope to make more progress on BUSH. Might get the sponcons finished then, looking forward to painting this thing, but need to finish all the details first.

I've also laid the keels for two more CVN's, nothing much there except the water line plates. More on them later as I figure out which ones they will be.

Good evening everyone,

I was just thinking  about this build, I know that this is far from accurate but this is my first real serious attempt at scratch building and making major mods to a ship. I know that when I do a NIMITZ 350 I'll be better prepared for the mods. I have very few things left to do to the hull, but need to make a trip to my LHS to get more materials. Then its off to primer and paint. Again I hope everyone likes the work thus far.... :thumbs_up_1:

Good afternoon everyone,

Just a quick update on my recovery and update info on the BUSH.
Dr's well pleased with my healing but still have me dry docked for another month, so no work yet, not rushing anything about going back to work.

Now, for the build update:
the hull is completed and primed, Island structure is completed except for adding the mast, no need to break it off just yet.
Planning on painting the flight deck this weekend and painting on the VLA's. Once all that is completed will add decals as needed, actually hope to finish the ship in the next week, weather permitting.

I've also made some progress on the VINSON, almost have Island completed, put the decals on deck {flight deck number}
will have this one finished in the next week as well.

Hello Fella's,

I have been traveling a lot these days and I have not been able to do much ship work.

It looks like it has been a tough winter/spring for everyone health wise so I hope all are doing better.

Jim, you look like you are cranking them out. Great work!

As my travel slows down, I will be getting back to my 1/350 Korean Kearsarge and finishing the PE on the Tamiya 1/350 Enterprise. I finally got the airwing done!

Take care everyone and keep the shipyards working.

Thanks Mark, I've been working slowly but steady on the builds. I need to apply the decals at the elevators and do minor touch up then seal the whole thing, and another one is done from the rebuilds. BUSH is about 65% complete, then I might start the KITTY HAWK or RANGER, anything but a NIMITZ Class for now. 18 months of NIMITZ rebuilds, I need something new and different to work on, maybe BIG E.

Thanks bud,

Yeah we do, I was going to start work on a different class but figured I've come this far and should finish what I started, since its been a year and a half since I started this rebuild project. I have designed a layout for an amphibous base for LHA, LHD, and LPH ships, I had a lot of the ships done, which were damaged when I moved and two where stolen, now that is going to be another rebuild project, might start that one next year.

Ships to include are:
USS ESSEX
USS BOXER
USS TARAWA
USS NASSAU
USS SAIPAN
USS PELELIU
USS BELLEAU WOOD
USS RACINE

As well as other verious craft, such as DDG's, CG's and what ever else I come up with.
