Any 1/350 news by chance?

Thanks for that Gernot - I've added the release date to the existing entry for the kit on the list.

Here is the link to the page on the Revell Germany site:

They state WWII - maybe they are doing a re-pop of one of the Trumpeter Essex kits?

The Revell link is giving a WW II Carrier,
but the Boxart gives a angled deck with hurricane bow
and new Island, a SCB Carrier.
CONFUSING :anyone:

The photo shows a WWII Essex to me? Maybe they fixed it. Anyways, the description and title both clearly state WWII, and given how Revell has redistributed the Trumpeter/Gallery LHDs so far, I'm not surprised if this is another such arrangement where Trumpeter provides the plastic and Revell provides the PE add-ons.

I'd trust Revell's own site more than a perhaps trigger-happy retailer.

Who wants to bet they won't be selling many of these in the Chinese market?
Japanese Plastic Model Trolls the Chinese Military
A new plastic model for a Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force escort vessel is raising eyebrows in China.

The model's box art seems to feature the Chinese aircraft carrier Liaoning engulfed in flames and sinking. Japanese fighter jets fly overhead.

Super excited about the prospect of a 350th scale Intrepid. Visiting the Intrepid as a kid was one of the biggest reasons I began modeling. In fact as a kid I made a couple of the 720th scale Intrepids after that visit. I believe those may have been my first ship builds ever. Since I started buying large scale models I've always wanted an Intrepid and now it might actually happen.

Hi Timmy,

I got a clarification on this from the other side (y'know, over the abyss):

http://members.boardhost.com/Warship/ms ... 72135.html

It seems it is getting expensive with all the kits becoming available.

Cheers,

Hugh

The box-art is for the Rehash of the very old Revell kit from the 1950`s in the Box scale series( 1/570th I think?) ,which is due to be re-released this year. The Essex USS Intrepid 1/350th is, according to Revell a completely new moulding and is NOT a re-pop of the Trumpeter Essex kit ,lets hope so ! :thumbs_up_1:
I think "Boystown" have got their wires crossed, remember the Ark Royal fiasco?
Cheers Phil

Yep, has U81 struck again.

Ref the new tool Revell USS Intrepid, herewith the text from my link above:

Revell announces a 1/350 Intrepid. It will be a cooperation model, like they did with USS Iwo Jima, USS New York and USS Wasp together with GalleryModels/MRC...
As much as I know, it's a new mould and it will come again from Gallery (Revell told me it not will be a rerelease of an older Trumpeter kit!).
It hopefully will be released end of 2013.

A model from my past, updated. Hopefully, same will apply to USS St. Paul and USS Boston, CA73 and CAG1, respectively. Hey, if they are into CV's, even a Midway?!

Cheers,

Hugh

Boystown's write up on the BELFAST kit had me chuckling.

""Belfast" No. ( HMS Belfast ) is a British Royal Navy cruiser "Edinburgh" class light cruisers, who served in World War II, now moored on the River Thames in London near Tower Bridge as a museum for visitors, is the Imperial War Museum jurisdiction.

"Belfast" was in 1936 was started in 1938 was launched, a displacement of 13,175 tons, each with two triple mounted fore and aft main gun turrets, equip 12 door 6 inches ( 152 mm) caliber guns, built by the Royal Navy largest light cruisers. Ship glorious victory in World War II, participated in the sinking of the German battle cruiser including (or light battleship) "Scharnhorst" was the battle as well as tungsten action, Neptune actions and zipper action (not running). In the final stages of the war in Europe, without the knowledge of the ship in the North Sea was a German XXI submarine found, fortunately submarine captain because of the war coming to an end and no attack.

The ship also participated in the Korean War, United Nations forces ashore with guns to provide fire support.

1963 Year ship retired from the 1971 Battle of Trafalgar anniversary year begins in London, Tower Bridge upstream pool Symon's dock open to the public to visit. Is the UK's second ship name of the state preserved warships. "

Ah, the perils of cut and paste

I wonder who taught them English; It shows a lack of care as well as distinct lack of knowledge of what they are selling. Hey, as long as they make a sale?

It wouldn't have taken them 5-10 minutes to proof read it and then present it as something reasonably meaningful. I was presented with the task of proof reading a contractor's computer system operations manual some years ago, God help us if this lot had to do just that!

Boystown, as you will be aware if you look through all of the brands and products they offer, do not only sell ship kits.
Like most vendors, they are not experts who specialize in only one particular genre.

Given their prices and great service (I've bought from them since January) I can vouch for them 100%.

Like many of the kit descriptions, yes its most likely a straight translation via bablefish or whatever, they simply don't have time to proof-read every piece of text, but would rather focus upon the most important aspect of running a business; i.e. providing a great service by getting ordered kits through the door to their customers in good time and at great prices.

Give them a fair go, I'm sure you will be very pleasantly surprised.
