Hi John,
Good to see you back in the game!
I am in the same boat! We just moved from Jacksonville down to Cape Canaveral. I can't find the PE I got for my 1/350 SCB-27A Kearsarge. I know its in a box somewhere. I really don't want to order another set. They are pricey!
I need to start another 700th scale carrier. I am nor sure which one tickles my fancy though.
Anyone else looking at getting the 1/350 scale Gallery SCB-125 Intrepid? That is going to be a must purchase if it really shows up. Maybe I will start working on the airwing so that it will be ready.

John, welcome back to the fold. Everybody has their burnout moments, and it's not hard to understand why they come to be. Great work on that destroyer though.

Hi Red,
I have not seen anything except the post that it is comming. That is why I am a bit skeptical. The MRC site says Dec 2013 so we shall see.
I am thinking Ticonderoga with CVW-19 1967-ish. If it is real!

Yeah... you damn near HAVE to put detailing into the hangar on a Carrier, there's so little else in the name of features if you don't include aircraft and stuff...

Re: Carrier Builders Yard, whats on the Slipway
Hey guys, I am planning my first real build that I want to go all out for and use more than the kit, so I am gonna do a 1:350 trumpeter USS Hornet during the Doolittle raid, I ordered the bombers, I am gonna go look for the carrier before I buy that online, but I am also gonna build a full hanger deck, are there any good builds on here with something similar? Does anybody have a reliable site to make sure I get the right number of planes?

footballdude,
welcome to the bird farm, If you can't find the HORNET locally then you will find it on line or at ebay, matter of fact I just saw one for 60.00 there. Now, I pretty sure the number of planes was 16 but I might be wrong. You can goggle "Doolittle raid" and find it for sure.
Also, check out "NAVSOURCE.COM" for some great pics of HORNET, as well as all kinds of ships. Good luck to you sir and remember to post pics and if you need any help just ask, most everyone here is very helpful.
