So Dragon announced (again) the 1/350 Atlanta at Nuremburg. Is this still in "we will make it eventually" status or has it been bumped up?

ME WANT TEXAS!!! Seriously, 350th of the New York class? Awesome. I was just about to start a scratchbuild on the USS Texas in that scale but I may have to wait now...

Anyone who could post news on even suspect release dates, would be much obliged. :woo_hoo:

Good news, since its a Trumpeter kit, you'll only have to scratchbuild the hull :thumbs_up_1: :heh:
"Also we will never see a 1/350 late war Enterprise from Dragon due to a paralyzing fear of success...." - Heavy Melder

Lots of unfinished model ships + attention issues = A busy slipway where nothing gets done!

A little bit of (justified) sarcasm ...

If they really make here a major error on a ship which is still alive, well ... :heh:

Well, they did it on the 1:200 Missouri kit around the shafts.
(But even so, I'm pretty excited to see a 1:350 Texas and her poor, forgotten sister New York on the slate.)

That's why I wrote "justified sarcasm" Sean ... ;-)

But as you, I'm happy to see finally another 1/350 US Dreadnought in plastic beside Arizona ... and the "paper project" of Dragon with their since years announced USS Pennsylvania :-)

My father-in-law served on the USS New York. I sure would like to build one for him before he goes...

In case anyone's interested and is not in the habit of looking through the list regularly, Bronco's 1/350 Type 052D destroyers have been released.

You can see some CAD and art for the kits here:
http://www.dragonusaonline.com/item_det ... de=BOM5039
http://www.dragonusaonline.com/item_det ... de=BOM5040

Note the two kits reflect minor differences in mast electronics between the two ships.

Airfix 1/72nd LCVP does look to be a new tooling

Post by FrancisMcN »

Airfix announced an LCVP in 1//72nd just before Christmas which many, myself included, assumed would be a reissue of the fairly old one dating from some time back. In fact, to judge by the sprue picture shown here

http://www.plastik-modellbau.org/wp-con ... ld-153.jpg

it is a new tooling with a different assembly including separate hull bottom and sides and no sign of the beach obstacles that took up a fair part of the parts count.

let's hope it is better detailed .....!

Hi all,
Anybody any idea what is the difference between the forthcomming 1/350 bb34 and bb35 from trumpeter. For i have understand both will be in their 1914-18 guise. As both are sisters what will be the difference?
Greetings and thanks,
Henk

No idea as of yet but I'm watching/listening closely. I was an inch away from starting a scratchbuild on BB35, so hopefully this will keep me from making a mess of plastic if I can wait. REALLY hope they do one in WWI fit, another in WW2 fit. Would make sense to me... :please:

If they're both gonna be WWI, I might as well start scratching now instead of waiting. Superstructure, cage masts, AA (or lack of), bilge additions, etc etc. all different...
