I served on the USS Abraham Lincoln from 2003-2006 and I want to convert the Trumpeter Nimitz to the Lincoln any thoughts or ways to help make this easier would be appreciated.

Well,

If you're not stuck on 1/350 scale, Trumpeters USS Lincoln in 1/700 scale is what you are looking for:

http://www.cybermodeler.com/hobby/kits/ ... 5732.shtml

If you want a 1/350 scale version, get the 700th scale kit as a reference and you will have to scratch build the differences. Lots of work for sponsons and island details. Sgt Ryan has done a couple of modern Nimitz Class ships out of the 1/350 scale Nimitz kit.

Look at his Truman and George Busch builds.

Good Luck!

Still not even shipped yet :(. Shapeways has put me on the slow list lately. :cry_3:

The SPG-55 is getting close to being done though. Maybe another week on that if all goes well.

Thanks!

I think Shapeways only has you on the fast list until you are hooked. Then when you really need it you're on the slow list...

Anyway here is what was on the virtual workbench this weekend:

HUP Retriever - Just started and have lots of details to go!
