More progress. I think all decks are stuck in place.....IE, I can't take them back off unless I break parts

There are still lots of little details left to add, plus more PE and kit parts. But, I see a light at the end of the tunnel now!

Wow, Brett! This is excellent work. She is really looking good! Do you plan to have the RPV/UAV dome on a platform on the center of the mast?

Excellent work, one of the cleanest builds I've seen.

Thanks Dave, Steinerman, John and Nicolas!

Dave, no I won't be adding the dome (Did NJ have it? I don't recall seeing images of it....) Would be an interesting addition though!

Little more work tonight. Ladders, some rigging, Phalanx, added antenna to the forward missile deck......stuff. I was hoping the EZ line might sag a bit with heat, but no such luck so far. We will see if I keep the rigging from the main mast to the aft mast. We'll seeeeeee

Question Brett: What color did you use on the tops of the stacks? It doesn't look like flat black. Whatever, I like it.

Thanks Wojtek!

As for what's next....I have a small stash (20+) other models to be built, one which is the USS Missouri in WW2 outfit.

However, I have a MH-60G PAVE HAWK in 1/35 that's half done, so that will most likely be next, just to clear the shelf of doom.

I am looking at a Ticonderoga class guided missile cruiser or the USS Alaska in 1/350......choices! :cool_2:

This image shows some....but it's a year old and is missing a few tanks, an X wing, an AT-ST, an Excelsior, a Bf-109.......etc. :thumbs_up_1: But, that TOS startship Enterprise is at least built!

Holy crap yes! I think it would be really cool if you did a What If (WIF) version of one of those models. I think the concept would fire your brain up and would make an incredible model!

Also, yes, NJ had the RPV dome on the aft mast in the late '80s. Don't forget, all 4 were expected to serve until at least 2010. The upgrades were constant and were planned.

Your build continues to inspire me! :woo_hoo:

A WIF Ticonderoga? Hmmm.....Wonder what I could do ;)

As for the mast, well, I have no more railings, so I couldn't add it....I suppose I could dig through the spare PE bin for leftovers, maybe something would work.

I meant to take a new picture last night and show the additions....but oh well!

The X Wing is Bandai's 1/72 scale kit. Bandai has made these little kits of theirs very very detailed for low cost. I was seriously impressed with it when I went though the box. AndyRM101 over on Brit Modeler has been building some of the kits and the work he turns out, seriously impressive.

No new work to show, but....current closet?

Johndon.....I wish I had room to display the B-1.....but, it's just too big. Maybe I need a bigger house?
