Thanks Dave. Not a lot done since my last update, but a few things. I'm not too happy with the rigging and I think I need to use something different than EZ Line for the main mast to aft mast. There's no sag and it looks weird.

Otherwise, more little parts attached, more to go through in the box. Harpoon launchers are being assembled and I started poking around on the Veteran Models Tomahawk boxes. No clue how I will drill .3mm holes for grab rails. Amusing though that the instructions call for drilling, but the image of a finished box shows the handle on top of the resin, not through.

Comments are welcome.

More work from today. The link antenna at the bow is in progress, hoping I can run the lines on it without destroying the Eduard PE. More antennas added to the superstructure, more rigging, rudders added back (oops) and more little details going on.

Comments/critiques are always welcome!

And the Veteran Models launchers. Oy....

Hello Brett!

NJ looks really great and You are very close to the end. I do not know how does it work but closer I am to the finishing the model, slower I work and I loose focus... Have You got something like this too?

As for the rigging, if I may recommend something, look in here:

http://infini-model.com/index.php/0prod ... -material/

I have bought their rigging for my Mo and I am 100% satified!

Have a great day!
All the Best,
Wojtek

I really appreciate the effort you have done to blend the bottom of the railings to the hull. Looks very nice and gives a good feeling of them belonging there!

Thanks Wojtek! Yep, I get the same way. I guess I don't see as many "big" things to do, so I let it sit. That and the other 20 models keeps distracting me!

I'll check out the Infini rigging, that may work :)

Thanks! Definitely is a lot of clean up compared to your Yamato, but...it's the only way I knew how :)

Awesome work Brett! Very clean build. I've been monitoring your progress and am always impressed by your workmanship.

In regards to getting stuck and loosing focus, I understand. I'm so close on my Iowa and just can't seem to push the last few items.

What a beautiful ship, Brett! Everything is perfect. PE is so clean and sharp, painting is fantastic. Truly a 10 out of 10.

Thanks Scott! The last little bit does always get slower. One thing I have to make sure of is that I don't rush when I do work on it, just to get it done.

Question for those in the know.....rigging, are there actually lines that ran from the masts to the bow and stern? I see them on the museum ship, but I'm having a hard time finding in service pics that are clear enough to show that.

Thanks!

Looking sharp. I like the rigging. Hell, I like all of it!

What, no helicopter? :D

Heh, just kiddingshe looks fantastic, mate! Your phone seems to make for a pretty decent camera as it is, so I can't wait to see the brace of photos you put up for the finisher. :wave_1:

Thanks everyone! It was definitely a challenging first of it's kind build for me. When you're used to building 1/48th jet's or simple starships, it's quite a change!

Hopefully I'll be back soon with another ship. I just need to sneak in an order and have it delivered when the wife isn't home to see!
