Re: 1/350 Yorktown CV5 Battle of Coral Sea
I think the 2 flag messages would be on the same flag line but at 2 levels with the HX2 at the top with the IZ below it with gap between the 2 messages.

Thanks FFG-7 indeed there should be a tackline that creates a 6 feet gap between messagesFFG-7 wrote:I think the 2 flag messages would be on the same flag line but at 2 levels with the HX2 at the top with the IZ below it with gap between the 2 messages.
Thanks again for your help

Re: 1/350 Yorktown CV5 Battle of Coral Sea
Dear all here is today's update on the Carrier.
I made some corrections on Island's port docking bridge, I made it too thin.
Then I placed ports railing and catwalk with stern's ladders and platforms.
Finally I started pilot house. Enjoy

Dear all here is today's update on the Carrier.
Thanks to the recent deep dives I added some extra details on and next to pilot's house.
Since kit is really lacking, obviously, of those details, I will try to replicate as realistic as possible all these "add-ons"
So enjoy

Dear all here is today's update...
More details on the Island
I added more details to the upper level of the pilot's house again thanks to the dives...
plus I made a platform that was not on the kit to place the lower part of the tube that will hold the for bow's MK33 open topped Fire director.( I think at Coral Sea it wa still the mk33 than mk 37)
Finally I placed the catwalk on bow's chimney.
Enjoy

Re: 1/350 Yorktown CV5 Battle of Coral Sea
Dear all l made 2 massive mistakes...daaaamn
1. l mounted the pilot's house upside down...such a dumass
2. I glued the mk33 180 the wrong way....
Sooo l had to remove very delicately everything... but l broke a couple of things and l had to repair them.
The pilot's house is in place, l have to re-glue the stairs and add details.
The 2 mk33 will be placed very soon

you are not the only person to reverse the 2 directors as I had to show another modeller on another site who was following his 1/700 scale model instructions that the orientation was wrong. he corrected his & told his friend who had done the same thing.

You have an eagle eye....well l saw it on an original picture and l wanted to put it in.FFG-7 wrote:I see you added the battle lookout to the front of the pilot house that you did not have in the previous pictures. when did you release it was missing?
Luckly l built it because when I was measuring its position l noticed the mistake in the pilot house.
I made the correction and i dry fitted the battle lookout...
