1/128th HMS Warspite

Post by therustyrivet »

Hi Guys and Girls,

I'm an avid battleship fan, particularly Dreadnought-Vanguard era RN Ships.

I've decided to do something completely different and currently looking at doing a Fleetscale 1/128 Scale RC Warspite in 1942 layout. Basically, I've never attempted anything of this size before and just after some advice on how to go about it and if anyone has any good resources to draw upon for reference material for the build. I love the idea of the Fleetscale kits coming with no instructions, and you can do as little or as much detail as you want.

Cheers and I look forward to getting stuck in and discussing.

I'd star by getting a copy of The Battleship Warspite (Anatomy of the Ship) by Ross Watton.

I completely forgot about this recent book that I'd recommend (just released, probably isn't in my active memory yet  )

It contains (all?) pictures of the original plans of Warspite as built and as modified; doesn't get better than this.I think this volume should be your #1 on your must-have reference list, the Anatomy of the Ship series volume as #2.
