Hi all,
Today I present my rendition of the Tenryu-class light cruiser Tatsuta in her 1942 fit.
Hasegawa kit with hyper detail edition PE set (which I think is made by tetra?), pleasant to build although I ended up making a few things a lot harder for myself than they should've been. For example I didn't straighten the large PE parts that makeup the midships and aft superstructure which resulted in some nasty warping after folding; hopefully that isn't too apparent.
Some other modifications
- 14cm guns from finemolds
- 25mm AA guns from AKAmodel
- Foremast and mainmast rebuilt using brass
- Motorboats and cutters from various Chinese 3DP brands
- Miscellaneous PE for boxes, life rings and crysanthemum crest
- Modelkasten 0.047mm rigging
I started her back in early 2025 but put her aside to work on HMS Calcutta, which was a less PE-intensive model. Overall I probably sunk around 3-4 months into this build.
As usual, feedback on my work is more than welcome!

Thanks Dan!
Few more from tonight. Wasn't really happy with the backdrop in the first set and needed to do the obligatory hand shots.

At a size like this you might consider a Vernier shot rather than a hand shot. Excellent work.

What an outstanding build.
