Portland, Oregon Rc Regatta August 14, 2010

The RC boat Regatta is being held this Saturday in Tualatin, Oregon during the Tualatin Crawfish Festival.

If you are driving in Saturday(exit 289 off I-5), Loading and unloading is
to happen only at the South side of the Fountain, on Nyberg St(and 84th Ave).
There will be no access to Seneca St. before Noon

There is a parade at 10am, and the city will begin closing streets at about 9:30am.
So plan to arrive before 9am (or after 11am) to avoid street closures.

There are four events planned.

Morning (to start as soon as we can,...11:30am)
.The Maneuvering Course.
.Loose Barge Recovery

Afernoon
.Raffle (3pm)
.Offshore Construction (Team barge spotting)

We would also like to clear the pond two or three times during the
day to allow the Hydroplanes to make some speed runs during the day.

The entire North end of the pond should be free of hazard tape and
pylons, and the harbor and jetty available this year for open sailing, and
interaction with the public. We suggest that no one use the conrete benches
as boat display, as it is at "child level" and invites children to touch boats.
This will also allow the public to sit and view activities. (We'll see how that goes...)

Eeveryone is on their own for Food and drinks. There is a Haagens/Top Food across
Boones Ferry RD, and several other restaurants and fast food near by.

All boats are welcome to display or sail. There is a boat entry fee for competition.
