WEM 1/350 Warspite PE--and more--from WEM

Post by John Snyder »

Hi Folks,

Peter Hall promised to burn the midnight oil getting our 1/350 Warspite PE set ready, and he has come through as always.

PE 35156 will take that Academy kit and turn it into a museum-quality model. The set consists of two A4-sized sheets:

and will provide details to suit the fussiest modeller (look closely at Part B and youll find the ships dog, the ships cat, and even the ships parrot!); there are at least 135 named parts on the 2 frets. PE 35156 will be in the hands of the etchers on Monday, 17 October and should be shipping about 3 weeks after that. We strongly encourage pre-orders as we have a number of orders already and you wont want to miss out on the initial production runthis is going to be a very popular kit with commensurate PE sales. VAT-inclusive price for PE 35156 will be 69.35 (ex-VAT 57.79)

And while taking a break from designing PE 35156, the good Mr. Hall came up with PE 35157, 1/350 Battleship Anchor Stud-Link Chain Links:

This set provides over 700 individual 1/350 scale links from which to assemble correct stud-link anchor chain (there are no available stud-link chains in small scales) of any requisite length. VAT-inclusive price will be 4.95 (ex-VAT 4.13). This set will be ready at the same time as the Warspite set.
Cheers,
John Snyder

John, the chain looks like a video might enhance it's assemble; ... possible?

In the best of all worlds, a video would be a great idea. In reality, we're spread way too thin to undertake it.

As always, we cannot follow Peter's museum quality works in Researching and accuracy.

When I come to WEM booth in Telford, I will buy one set if this is not sold out.

Thank you

The stud link chain looks good, something I have been looking out for, but as stated, no-one has done before.

Presumably assembly is straight forward: just cut each link off, and holding with tweezers slip the end of the link with a small gap over the next link at the end without a gap, repeat many times, and all will hold together when pulled tight.

The Warspite set looks top rate too; seeing the images certainly satisfies the level of complexity required from my point of view.
