Ballasting
Time to fill the internal testing tank or bath to everyone and ballast out the boat. First I put the hull in the water and placed the steam plant inside with the boiler filled with water. Now I could add weight using cast metal sticks each weighing 225g (8oz) each and place them inside triming up the hull so it sat correctly on the water. With the steam plant in place I added 8 sticks in total, which is 1800g almost 4lbs.
Next I removed the steam plant and inserted the electric module, which is lighter, so had to add an additional 4 sticks increasing the ballast to 2700g (6lbs Approx.) I permenately glued the ballast in for when I use the steam plant and left the extra weights loose so they can be easily placed inside when using thew electric module.
