LT Army tug 1/30
Hey guys,
A couple of years ago I already started a build like this, only due to moving to some different houses the old hull got damaged beyond repair.
This year I decided to start a new build of an LT army tug.
It is the LT 1973.
I did see it a couple of years ago in the harbour of Rotterdam.
I got a full plan of pdf yard drawings available.
The vessel will be the modernised version, the LT 1973 has been the prototype for the modernisation of 7 or 8 of these vessels for joining in the Gulf War Operation Desert Storm.
More info about this will follow.

"Shiloh", ex-US Army 'LT 1973', Falmouth Harbour, 19.05.09, as seen from passenger ferry Enterprise 3 on her way up to Truro. She was built in 1954 and is now privately-owned. Thanks to Ivan S. Abrams for the tug history data. 24.01.10 - Update. Tug has recently left Falmouth to travel to Hull via Portland to collect a barge. She will then be taking a long voyage to West Africa to start work towing logs. She is now owned by a company called Buchanan Renewable Energy.

Re: LT Army tug 1/30
It for sure is a nice type of tug.
When I get home from holiday I will post the article about the modernisation of the vessels.
3 of the modernised vessels have been refurbished and repainted a couple of years ago at a yard close to my home. A friend of mine did the transportation from England to Holland.
2 of these vessels are the Ogbomoso and the Balali. Both sold to Nigeria.

At this moment I am working on a new nozzle design. Some parts need to be removable to dismount the rudder.

Testfitted.
Overall dimensions are ok, some minor adjustments need to be made on the hole positions.

Closed the hull this week after several weeks of no time.
Now it is coated in PU resin. After sanding the hull will be smoothed out with putty.
